JT to OBJ problem (Triangulations?)

Hello,

Hoping to get some help as I am a beginner user. I have an excellent .JT 3d file of my workplace, created by a 3rd party company. I would like to convert this file to obj format for blender animation program. To run simple animations showing pipes and tanks etc.

I have CAD assistant which is able to load in around 80% of my file (file size is 60MB) unfortunately the remaining 20% of my file will not load. When I click on these missing objects in thre tree, I can see 'Null triangulations:1' in the stats box for the item. Is there anyway to fix this? I am able to view the full file on JT2Go

Thankyou Tom

Sharing the model would be helpful, first of all.

Hi Kirill - thanks for replying.I am unable to share this model as it is of my workplace. Please see attached image showing missing tank and 'null triangulations'

You can see from the image lots of pipework missing etc

You can also check Message Window in CAD Assistant to see if there are some errors or warnings.

Unfortunately, there is not much that can be deduced only from screenshot without model and with message log indicating no warnings / errors.
If you have access to software creating your JT model, you may try removing most of the model and keeping only a couple of problematic elements to create a model that you may share.

Notice that JT reader within CAD Assistant currently expects all geometry in JT file having triangulation representation to be displayed in 3D Viewer (JT file may also contains B-Rep, which will be ignored).

Hello Tom,

I would appreciate if you'll check if there is some difference in CAD Assistatn 1.2.1 (for Windows) - e.g. new messages in log or maybe your model opened correctly.

Hi Kirill

Is this what you mean by the message window?

Thanks
