Open CASCADE Technology will be presented at FOSDEM 2020 in Brussels

Open Cascade will feature Open CASCADE Technology (OCCT) - an open source object-oriented set of C++ class libraries with more than 20 years of history - during FOSDEM 2020 event which will be held in Brussels on February, 1-2.  Alexander Malyshev, one of the main contributors, author of tutorials and certified trainer on OCCT, will give a 30-minute presentation about key Open CASCADE Technology features and highlight new additions, which have been represented in the latest releases.

Free and Open source Software Developers' European Meeting (FOSDEM) is a non-commercial, volunteer-organized European event centered on free and open source software development. FOSDEM is one of the top open-source events on the planet, usually gathering 8,000+ participants. Thousands of open source developers from all over the world are flocking to Brussels to collaborate and share their ideas and experience.

FOSDEM is held annually, usually during the first weekend of February, at the Université Libre de Bruxelles Solbosch campus in the southeast of Brussels, Belgium. Entrance and participation in the event is entirely free. It is financed by sponsors who accept the non-commercial nature of the event, and by donors amongst the visitors.

During the Open Source Computer Aided Modeling and Design devroom, Alexander Malyshev will make a presentation on OCCT, within which he will give an overview of the technology itself, its licensing, development history and also cover several interesting topics like modeling data, algorithms, visualization and data exchange. In the frames of the devroom many other like-minded open source projects will be presented, some of which sucessfuly utilize various Open CASCADE Technology capabilities.
